L.E.A.P. ORG. founded in 2009, is an 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Our mission is to instill positive moral growth and sustainable life skills development for youth

Leaping for success through faith, education, and outreach!

Our vision is to empower youth to reach their full potential & provide families the resources to become self-sufficient with a foundation of faith, hope, and love

OUR SERVICES

Our positive youth development program views young people as “resources” who have much to offer rather than as “problems” that need to be treated or fixed.

Intervention Program

Youth referred from Juvenile Court, DCS, Schools, and/or parents who report issues with drugs or violence must complete our Intervention Program. Students participate in small groups mentoring sessions that use the Mendez Foundation Too Good For Drugs & Violence Curriculum that is designed to mitigate risk factors and develop protective factors. The interactive lessons provide practical guidance for understanding dating and relationships, violence and conflict resolution, underage drinking, substance abuse, and building healthy friendships. The program also builds skills for responsible decision-making, effective communication, media literacy, and conflict resolution.

Leadership & Life Skills

Youth that voluntarily enroll in our program enjoy innovative and fun leadership workshops where they will both learn and apply essential leadership skills including: Team Building, Ethical Decision Making, Time Management, Goal Setting, Public Speaking, and Conflict Resolution.

Career Readiness

JumpStart Success is a comprehensive and flexible career exploration and job-readiness curriculum. The program provides a project-based, hands-on learning experience for youth through interactive job readiness training and workshops. Not only does this planning and preparation provide job training to ready them for the workforce or post-secondary education. It also motivates them to finish high school and reach for their dreams..

Counseling & Case Management

Our licensed social workers provide case management, counseling, and resource coordination services to young people. Through individual, family, and group sessions, issues including behavioral problems, drug and alcohol abuse, violence, aggressive behavior, juvenile crime, low self-esteem, and child abuse/neglect are addressed. Services are provided in homes, schools, community centers, and Leap offices.

Life Skills Basketball Program

Our Life Skills Basketball program teaches youth that playing basketball is about more than just throwing a ball through a hoop -- it's also about learning important skills that will last a lifetime. The lessons from the basketball court easily transfer to the work world, helping with everything from self-confidence to working with authority figures.

Youth Dance Program

Our Youth Dance Program empowers students through providing dance and enrichment classes to promote health and wellness that enhance the overall development of our students across diverse dance disciplines to provide a healthy alternative to undesired activities and provide a safe environment for youth to creatively express themselves through the arts.

Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program

The Montgomery County UT Extension facilitates the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program. EFNEP shows participants new ways to prepare low cost healthy foods for their family and determine how much food they need based on their age and level of activity.

Tutoring

Advantage Learning Center offers comprehensive study programs designed to meet the diverse academic needs for students of all ages.
